Weekly Card Pull: Oct 18-24
This week's reading brings together the Six of Pentacles, This Is an Initiation from the Sisterhood of the Seers Oracle by Athena Laz, illustrated by Anna Santos, and Intuition from The Moon Deck by Aarona Lea, illustrated by Andrea Keh.
Even before I pulled these cards today, I was having some feelings of grief. Thinking about my dad I lost nearly a year ago, revisiting memories, and honestly, feeling a little angry about him not being in this physical space to see how our lives have expanded over these months.
And then these cards came together.
There's something here about honoring what has been, allowing ourselves to receive what we need, and trusting that there's still more life to experience on the other side of whatever we're moving through.

🌙 The Energy: This is an Initiation + Intuition
This is an Initiation + My inner compass knows the way
This is an Initiation speaks to grief, loss, endings, and the cycles of change that move into new chapters, or books, of our lives. I'll start by acknowledging that we don't always welcome these changes. Sometimes we lose people, relationships, opportunities, or versions of ourselves we don't feel ready to let go of. But this card reminds us to give compassion to ourselves as we go through those feelings. We don't have to rush through them or 'make everything ok' before we're ready.
And then we have Intuition from The Moon Deck, carrying the mantra: "My inner compass knows the way."
This is such a cool pairing because it reminds us that even as we're navigating change, we still have access to our own inner guidance. We may not know exactly what comes next. We might even have a hard time picturing what life looks like without someone or something we've become so accustomed to.
As we give ourselves the space to process what has changed, we can start recognizing what still feels right, what no longer belongs, and where we're invited to jump next.
Our intuition doesn't typically give us the whole picture. Sometimes it's a quiet knowing that something needs to change, or there's something worth exploring.
This week, pay attention to: the ✨quiet nudges or symbols✨ that may be guiding you or preparing you for something different.
🔮 The Tarot: 6 of Pentacles
The 6 of Pentacles brings the energy of balance, generosity, and the beautiful relationship between giving and receiving. Next to the two oracle cards, I'm really called to lean into the receiving angle.
When we're experiencing grief or navigating change, it can be easy to focus on what missing or unknown. What we've lost, what didn't work out, or what we're no longer able to experience in the way that we used to. And while there's absolutely space to honor those feelings, I think we're invited to also consider what's available to us now. Receive, damn it!
What could receiving look like? Maybe it's support from someone who loves us, yes, someone bringing the warm soup to your bedside to give you some extra cozy time. Maybe it's an opportunity we hadn't considered before. Maybe it's allowing ourselves to rest, be cared for. I know a lot of us have trouble "receiving," but this is when to lean into it. We don't always have to be the ones giving, doing, or holding everything together.
This is where intuition becomes super important. As we allow ourselves to move through what's ended, we can begin listening for what feels aligned with who we are now. We can trust ourselves to recognize where there is still love, nourishment, and possibility just waiting to be experienced.
The invitation: allow yourself to grieve what has changed without closing yourself off to what is still available and coming in for you. Notice where you might be resisting support, rest, or new possibilities.
A Question to Carry With You
Where in my life am I being invited to stop holding on so tightly, allow myself to receive, and trust what comes next? 💕
Til next week!
