Weekly Card Pull: Oct 25-31

This week's reading brings together the Lovers, Tales in all Time-Spaces from the Sisterhood of the Seers Oracle by Athena Laz, illustrated by Ana Santos, and Prayer from The Moon Deck by Aarona Lea, illustrated by Andrea Keh.

These cards are so perfect for this space of many retrogrades, when old stories resurface and we're invited to reconsider whether we want to keep living by them.

🌙 The Energy: Tales in all Time-Spaces + Prayer

Tales in all Time-Spaces + I surrender to the power of prayer and devotion

Tales in all Time-Spaces speaks to reflecting on the stories you're currently telling yourself, considering what inner narratives are leaving you feeling anxious, and flipping the script. When I say story, I mean the way we recount our experiences to make sense of what's happened and to predict what might happen next. There is WAY more to it than that, but just so you can follow along with my thinking. When you're caught up in a negative story, you can keep imagining more of the same - anticipating disappointment, rejection, failure, or whatever else you're afraid of experiencing again. Before you know it, you're building expectations for the future around things you DON'T want.

So what happens when you flip the script? What if instead of anticipating the worst, you allowed yourself to imagine things working out? More ease. More love. More abundance. More success. What would that story look like? The invitation here isn't to keep pecking at the old story - but to recognize when you're telling it, then intentionally begin telling a new one (one with things you actually want to experience).

And then we have Prayer from The Moon Deck, carrying the mantra: "I surrender to the power of prayer and devotion."

This is a perfect pairing for the times. When we're stuck anticipating the worst, it can be difficult to imagine anything different. The Prayer card reminds us that we don't have to navigate those moments alone. We can reconnect with the divine through our own honest spiritual practice, surrender some of that fear, and tap into the love that moves through all things. A quote from the Moon Deck guidebook perfectly ties into the Tales in all Time-Spaces narrative:

When the mental looping of fear-based stories surface, it's often a sign that you've disconnected from your power, your greater service, or your connection to Spirit. Tap into the powerful practice of prayer and feel the loving force of devotion.

This week, pay attention to: where the past and its "stories" come to haunt you. Speak to Spirit or your higher self and ask for support writing a new story -- one of curiosity, possibility, and joy.

🔮 The Tarot: The Lovers

The Lovers speaks of choice -- making a choice in support of your highest self and what you value. Next to the two oracle cards, and considering Venus in retrograde, the Lovers shows a hardcore decision to choose yourself. Think about the stories you've inherited or created about what happens when you prioritize your own needs. Maybe you worry someone will be disappointed. Maybe you feel obligated to jump into someone else's chaos because that's what a good friend, partner, colleague, or family member is supposed to do. Or maybe you've convinced yourself that everything is urgent because slowing down might make someone question your value.

Maybe those stories helped you make sense of things once. But that doesn't mean they need to keep writing your future. What would change if you started imagining a life where your needs mattered just as much as everyone else's?

Choosing yourself doesn't mean you stop caring about other people. It means you stop treating your own needs as less important than everyone else's.

The invitation: When an old story resurfaces this week, acknowledge it, but don't get stuck there. Give yourself permission to imagine a different future. What would it look like if things actually worked out? If there were more love, ease, abundance, and joy waiting for you? Bring that vision into your prayers, and consider what choices you can make today to begin moving toward it.
